Citizens National Bank has been notified by several clients that they have received a text message from “CITIZENS NATIONAL BANK 24 HOUR FRAUD DEPARTMENT” asking them to verify an “attempted charge”. After responding to the text, someone calls asking for verification of the entire debit card number. DO NOT give anyone your personal information, including your debit card number. We will NEVER ask for this as we already know your number.

 

The texts and phone calls that we have been made aware of at this point are 813.438.5366, 818.438.5366 and 804.372.0456, so the text could come from any number. It appears that the charge they are asking to be verified is a $425.22 charge to Walmart, and state that the charge was denied. These are not Citizens National Bank phone numbers. A legitimate text or call from our debit card fraud department relating to debit cards will come from 844.544.3265. It is suggested that you add this number to your phone contacts so that you will know that potential future text messages are coming from CNB’s debit card fraud department.
